INCIDENT: Hyde Park Teen charged after making threats to FDR High School

On November 25, 2019 the Town of Hyde Park Police received a report of a threat made at Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School. For the second time in 4 days a student at FDR wrote a threat on a bathroom wall. Another student immediately reported it to school officials, and an investigation immediately ensued.

Officers reviewed video surveillance with the assistance of high school administrators. A suspect was quickly identified and interviewed. After the interview he was charged with Making a Terroristic threat a Class D Felony and Falsely reporting an incident in the 3rd Degree a Class B Misdemeanor.

The adolescent offender is a 16-year-old male student at FDR from Hyde Park. He was transported to Mid-Hudson Reginal Hospital for a mental health evaluation. He was given an appearance ticket to appear in Dutchess County Supreme Court on November 26, 2019. The identity of the suspect is not being released due to his age.

The Hyde Park Police were assisted in the investigation by the staff at FDR and the Dutchess County Attorney’s office.
