UPDATE:

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro today announced the County’s Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) has updated its notification system, refining the County’s system to better assist those looking for information about COVID-19 vaccine availability. The new form is available on the County’s vaccine information page: www.DutchessNY.gov/COVIDvaccine.

Those without internet access can call the Dutchess County Corornavirus Information Line at 845-486-3555 to hear weekly updates about vaccine availability by selecting Option 1. Those over 65 years old can then choose to be connected with the Office for the Aging to be added to notification lists about appointment availability.

COVID-19 vaccine remains in very limited supply and demand far exceeds supply.  Governor Cuomo estimates it will take 7 months to vaccinate the current eligible groups (approximately 7 million people) based on projected supply.  New York receives approximately 250,000 to 300,000 doses each week which then is distributed throughout the state.

New York State Sponsored Sites

New York State vaccination sites are open to all Phase 1a and 1b eligible individuals. Closest state sponsored sites to Dutchess County are Westchester County Center and SUNY Albany.

Points of Dispensing (POD) Vaccination Centers

The County has two POD locations – at the former JCPenney store at the Poughkeepsie Galleria and Dover High School. These sites are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Appointments for County POD locations must be made online. Appointment availability is dependent on vaccine supply. New appointment sign-ups are opened as the County receives confirmation of vaccine supply from New York State and are posted at www.dutchessny.gov/covidvaccine.

Residents can sign up at www.dutchessny.gov/covidvaccine to receive email notification when new appointment sign-ups are opened. Appointments fill very quickly once they are posted as supply is limited.

As per NYS guidance, local health departments are to prioritize Phase 1b essential workers (such as police, fire, teachers, public transit workers).
