[ARCHIVED] Heavy Snow Impact on Cable & Internet Service

Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service is predicting significant impacts from a major winter storm Wednesday afternoon/evening into Thursday morning. Heavy snow, strong winds, sleet and minor to moderate coastal flooding are the main hazards associated with this system. Strong winds, heavy snow and ice have the potential to cause power outages and network damage that could impact internet, TV and phone service.

Optimum has notified the Town to say it is monitoring the network and will report any significant impacts to the system. In the event your services are impacted, you can visit My Account for service updates. You can also:

  1. Message Optimum at optimum.net/chat
  2. Send Tweet to @Optimumhelp
  3. Call Optimum at (866) 950-3278

In addition, you can sign up to receive service alerts via text or voice message by going to My Account. Once you’re set up, Optimum will notify you directly when outages affect service. You'll get restoration timing and other updates until your Optimum service is restored.
