The town will be conducting a Public Hearing to discuss the Altice (Optimum/Cablevision) Franchise Renewal Agreement on Monday, December 7th at 6:10 P.M. The hearing will be conducted remotely via Zoom.
This is your chance to speak directly to an Altice representative.
Please note: This agreement is non-exclusive:
“WHEREAS, this franchise renewal, as set out below, is non-exclusive and complies with the franchise standards of the New York State Public Service Commission…”
In addition, it is important to know that the town has actively pursued FIOS and was told Verizon is not interested in investing in the infrastructure needed to come to Hyde Park. The current infrastructure for cable and internet is owned, operated, and maintained by Altice. Any competitor wishing to come into any town or city with already existing cable and internet services would have to build their own infrastructure.
If you would like to participate in the public hearing, you will need to register in advance. Please go to our Remote Public Hearing Procedures link for more information on how to register.
In addition, you can submit written comments to our town clerk via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or in writing to: Donna McGrogan, Town Clerk, 4383 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY 12538. Further details on written comment are also available on the Remote Public Hearing Procedures page.
