Scenic Hudson is developing a Hudson River Shoreline Access Plan and is looking for comments on a specific issue we in Hyde Park face in making our way to our most treasured resource, the Hudson River.
While "at-grade" crossings are the goal of some communities, Hyde Park is fortunate to have several safe access points that utilize bridges over the railroad tracks. Unfortunately, these "orphan bridges" have fallen into disrepair, limiting resident’s ability to utilize them for the recreational purposes we value.
These include:
Rogers Point via the Coal Dock Bridge
Green Point via the trails at the FDR estate
Mills Norrie State Park
Dominican Camp
Please make sure to have your voice heard by commenting at the link below, specifically mentioning how important these orphan bridges are to you.
Comments must be received by January 31st.
