Animal Control

Animal Control is responsible for handling loose or stray dogs, barking complaints, rabies enforcement, etc., based on town ordinances. They do not handle wildlife, animals stuck in trees, or dead animals on roadways.

The Town of Hyde Park utilizes the Dutchess County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DCSPCA) for dog control services. To reach the main office, Monday through Friday, please call 845-452-7722, ext. 431 or 845-204-9598 to report a lost or missing dog.

In addition, you can reach Animal Control Officer Lynn O'Dell on her cellphone, 845-750-2312, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and Animal Control Officer Stephanie Fitzpatrick on her cellphone, 845-705-3117, between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lynn and Stephanie also alternate weekends.
